Questions

Before you subscribe.

Answers to our most asked questions.
Still curious? Email hello@peakpeeker.com.

Do I have to plan my trip in your planner?

No. If you already know which permit you want, go straight to creating a tracker. The planner just makes setup faster because you already know your trailhead, route family, and dates.

Will it book the permit for me?

No. We send you an email with a direct link to the booking page on Recreation.gov. You click, you book. Keeping a human in the loop avoids bot detection and means your payment details never leave your browser.

How is this different from other services?

Most charge monthly and make you narrow the watch to a tiny date list. PeakPeeker keeps pricing simple: first active tracker free, additional trackers are $5 if you want more coverage, and tracking spans the full permit season by default.

What email address do alerts come from?

alerts@peakpeeker.com. We recommend allowlisting this address or checking your spam filter after subscribing.

Is this against Recreation.gov's terms?

We make lightweight read-only API calls, the same calls your browser makes when you load the permit page. We don't hold, reserve, or book anything automatically.

Can I request a permit that isn't listed?

Yes. Email us and we'll add it. If it's on Recreation.gov and it's in demand, it's worth monitoring.

Ready when you are

Start with the planner. Turn it into a tracker when you're ready.

Plan the route, then let PeakPeeker watch the whole permit season for openings. Your first active tracker is free. Additional trackers are $5 if you need more coverage.
