How it works

01

Create an account and enter your email. Takes under a minute. No credit card until you're ready.
02

Choose your permits

Pick which permits to watch: Half Dome, the Enchantments, or both. More destinations coming soon. We handle the rest.
03

We watch. You wait.

Our servers check Recreation.gov every 15 minutes around the clock, filtering out phantom availability so you only hear about spots that are actually bookable.
04

Email drops. You book.

The moment a cancellation appears, you get an email. Each opening has a Book Now → button that deep-links directly to that date on Recreation.gov. Be fast, so does everyone else.

Built to actually work

🔗

One-click booking

Every alert includes a deep link that opens Recreation.gov on the exact date. No hunting through the calendar.

🏕️

Division-aware

Tracks individual trailheads, not just the permit. Know exactly which entry point opened: Happy Isles, Glacier Point, Sunrise, and more.

🔕

No duplicate noise

We remember what we've already told you. Once notified, you won't get the same alert again unless availability changes.

🕐

Always on

Runs 24/7 on our servers. No Mac required. No computer left awake. No cron jobs. It just works.

✉️

Email you already use

Alerts go straight to your inbox, with no new app to install, no SMS charges, and no push notifications to enable.

🥾

More adventure, less admin

Stack up bigger plans without living on permit pages. Spend your energy dreaming about alpine lakes, sunrise trailheads, and the next trip after this one.

Permits we watch

We're starting with the hardest-to-get permits in the country. Permit coverage is actively being expanded, and if you want a specific permit added, let us know.

Questions

Will it book the permit for me?
No, we send you an email with a direct link to the booking page on Recreation.gov. You click, you book. Keeping a human in the loop avoids bot detection and means your payment details never leave your browser.
How is this different from outdoorstatus.com?
Outdoorstatus charges $15 per individual tracker and sends SMS. We charge a one-time $5 fee per tracker and deliver alerts by email with a direct deep-link to the booking page, so you land on exactly the right date, not the permit homepage.
What email address do alerts come from?
Alerts arrive from a PeakPeeker address to whatever inbox you sign up with. We recommend checking your spam filter after subscribing.
Is this against Recreation.gov's terms?
We make lightweight read-only API calls, the same calls your browser makes when you load the permit page. We don't hold, reserve, or book anything automatically. Checks run every 15 minutes, well below any reasonable rate limit.
Can I request a permit that isn't listed?
Yes, email us and we'll add it. If it's on Recreation.gov and it's in demand, it's worth monitoring.
